During the Open Forum 7 “Mobilising Europe” in Brussels the winners of the third My Europe Film Audience Award 2008 were announced. The winners are “It´s my turn” by Ismet Ergün in the “Living in Europe” section and “The Veterinarian” by the Latvian director Signe Bauman in “Politics and Policies” section.
During the Award Ceremony the best films and the winners were shown in presence of winning director Ismet Ergün. Her film about children playing in Budapest works without any subtitles only by the language of pictures and emotions. Ismet Ergün said during the ceremony that beside any discussions about Turkey belonging to Europe “this is for her a truly European story because it is a story from her own childhood and she feels being from Turkey and living in Berlin as an European citizen.” Watch
