Title: Future Folk

Date: August, 2015

Venue: Berlin, Germany

Project Summary:

Our aim is to bring together young musicians from a range of European countries, who will share the respective folk traditions of their countries with each other. Participants will collaborate cross-culturally, to produce a collection of tracks, each reinterpreting these folk traditions in a modern context. This will be a unique opportunity for the participants to gain sensitivity to the importance of folk traditions to European identity, both within individual nations and Europe as a whole, by sharing their diverse backgrounds and engaging with other traditions directly. It will also equip them for success in Europe’s contemporary music industry.

Further details are in the attached document. If you represent or know of a relevant cultural organisation who would be interested in finding participants for this project, please contact either Andreia or Will ASAP:
