From 3- 6 September a meeting of representatives of NGO’s from Europe and Israel took place in Ma´ale Hahamisha close to Jerusalem. It had been initiated and organised by our Israeli partner organisation Young Israeli Forum for Cooperation (YIFC). The participants of this meeting agreed to develop a common platform allowing for regular contacts between young professionals active in civil society both in Israel and Europe and to enhance the development of common projects. The overall goal is the establishment of more intensive mutual contacts in the interest of both Israel and Europe. In the end of the meeting, three working groups on strategy, capacity building and project development were formed. A follow-up meeting will probably take place in Berlin next year. Citizens of Europe perceives the development of this platform as an opportunity to develop closer working relations to other European NGOs and to contribute to a wider horizon in contemporary European debates.
